hand 1: At first i thought call but now i'm thinking you might be considering folding?

hand 2: Really tough cause ike is just sick. i feel like he has a good amount of bluffs though knowing that you probably dont have an 8 and its statistically unlikely that you have a set.

hand 3: No idea

hand 4: First thought was i love it but i think you get owned sometimes by a low flush or kxcc

hand 5: meh i feel like he has some boats in his range and im not terribly confident that he'll fold a flush or even a 9 cause this is a clear bluff spot.

hand 6: why'd you c/c the flop?

i c/c flop mostly for balance. i think in a vacuum betting is better than checking vs ike in this spot. however, i was 3betting 26% or so for the match and so i was forced to chk/fold a lot of boards like this one when called and i flopped air since he was folding like 36% to cbet, prob quite a bit less on this texture.

since i was c/f a large portion of my range, and sometimes chk/calling with weak showdown hands like 66 or Q4s or K5s i thought it was a good idea to mix in some nut hands into my c/c range since as my c/f frequency and c/c, c/f turn or river freq unimproved increases he is going to be more inclined to 3barrel as a bluff.

Interesting hands thanks for posting!

1. Yeah fold says the gut.

2. I'd just call and call some more. As played I doubt he is bluffing given how little you have left, but if you had some plan then go with it.

3. c/f

4. I doubt you would actually take this line as a bluff so I think it's a little thin. I'd like it against a weaker opponent. If he's caught you making bad bluffs then I don't mind it.

5. Very nice imo.

6. Stick with your plan. You didn't c/c strong just to b/f river now did you? His range is pretty much ATC anyways and any fives should be discounted by flop action.

I hope I didn't light too much money on fire

1. call
2. wouldn't raise flop and call 3bet if I wasn't stacking off with top pair
3. call unhappily, you probably have the best/second best hand in your range?
4. don't like
5. depends entirely on what he can actually fold here, need more reads. I mean I think your underfulls are discounted and he knows this.
6. def don't fold

We aren't exact opposite. We agree on #2, #4.

#2: I said I don't think he is bluffing (that's means I'd fold). My comment about calling and calling some more meant that I would take a passive line starting from the flop.

#4: With history I think it's fine. Against most opponents this is a very nice play but if villain is insanely good then I think he should see it for what it is. I just wanted to say that to me this doesn't look like a bluff. Does it look like a bluff to you knowing Bens game pretty well?

But we do seem to disagree about the rest:

#1: I think it is abundantly clear that we have a bluff catcher here. I also think he is raising slightly more than he would need to raise if he was bluffing which makes me think he is strong. Yeah we have a full house but there's six combos that beat us and they make PERFECT sense, especially taking into account sizing on both sides. I thought you of all people would fold here.

#3: This hand is pretty meh. I just think it's fun to fold the nut flush on this board so I fold. Do you think he shoves 7c for value?

#5: I just think it's a sick play to turn trips into a bluff in a HU match, so I think it's awesome.

#6: I think villain could shove worse top pair for value here and it can certainly be a bluff. He gets to the river like this with all sorts of garbage so I don't see much reason to fold.

Regarding #5, I feel like this exploits a common tendency to bet 9x on the river for bluff protection even though it is clearly a loosing bet in a vacuum.

ha i was jk p4s. afa 1/3/5/6

1 and 3 i agree w/ u vs almost anyone but its IKE yo

5 im sure u are partially joking here but that is a purely donkish level of thought

6 yea i thought this one was tough. originally you had said that the flop action should discount fives and that was a primary reason to call; i would bet 5x here as a default play and i expect that ike would nearly as often as me

You missed my serious comment: I feel like this exploits a common tendency to bet 9x on the river for bluff protection even though it is clearly a loosing bet in a vacuum.

This hand confuses me because I would never take this line on this board with any hand ever (as villain). However, if I would lead AT into a range of ATC it would not be with the intention of folding to a shove, although vs a very decent opponent this spot ridiculous.
