Villain is a good reg. I haven't played with stats since November but I'd guess he's something like 23/18/4, doesn't seem to make big mistakes.

I spewed into him a good while ago (like 3-4 months) but haven't in a good while. My image at the table is irrelevant since he just got here and stacked the fish.

5-10, eff stacks 1.9k.

I raise btn to 35 and villain repops to 135, I call very quickly.

Flop is

villain bets 190 into 280ish, I call (? don't really see what else to doo...)

Turn is (whee gutterball)

Villain thinks for a couple seconds and checks.

I go into the tank and check with about 1 sec left.

riv is Board now reads

Villain quickly bets 570 into 660.

Thoughts? If you think "lol fold" then no worries but I may have called or shoved, can't tell you till I get a bunch of replies saying I shouldn't even be worrying about this.

edit : one thing I didn't mention is that I've seen villain flat AQ from the blinds and get super aggro on A hi flops. I'm pretty sure this isn't crucial 200bb's deep but wtv...
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Why don't you just bet turn bet river?

I fold preflop as well though. J8s is not a super great hand to play in a big pot deep.

Definitely bet turn in this hand, it's just fps not to

id fold preflop against the described player often, unless you have decent control over him

as played calling river is fine, raising is a leak, folding is fine

I don't mind raising the flop even sometimes. I feel like QQQ and AQ are pretty reasonable hands here, not to mention gutters+FD's that don't mind getting it in.

I'd prob flat flop mostly though, and yah like others said just bet the turn.

Once you check the turn, raising river doesn't make much sense at all. I'd call or fold, most likely folding. Unless I knew villain took bet/check/bet lines as bluffs.

i guess it's a leak to be chronically fearing the CRAI, esp deep.

Gen- also since you have 2 solid stone nuts combos, 55 and JT, as well as a ton of med-made hands which are kind of suicidal to bet turn with u dont have to be overly worried about a CR
