I dont know if you guys know of the player H@££INGGOL, but I can tell you he is a pretty darn good player, usually playin 10-20 NL or higher on Pokerstars. Just wanted to share a story from today He is from the same town as me, and today there was a tournament at the local Brick & Mortar room. Fredrik (H@££INGGOL) have had this huge pile of chips in fron of him but due to several badbeats he was now down. I was actually on of the chip leaders at this point. Blinds were 500-100 and he was down to about 12000, I had 35000 in chips. He raised from button to 3000 and I sat in the bigblind with AK and reraised him all-in. He called with AJ and a jack on the turn put him right back in the torunament.
At the final table I was atually even worse badbeated by a friend (not really a strong player though) of his. With blinds at 1000-2000 and a 32000 stack I raised to 8000 with 8s8c after this guy has limped in from cutoff. He called my raise, and the flop came 8d 5h 2s. I checked he bet out potsize (16000) and I moved in. He called in agony with Ah9h and turn and river came 2 hearts. Thank you and goodnight

Well, Im debating wether it would be ev+ or ev- to invite him to my homegame
No, seriously that would be very nice. He just shows up occasionally at the local cardroom, but when he does he usually crushes the game, lol. And no, I can assure he's not named Oren. That's a nonexisting name in Sweden, actually Oren means "filthy" in Swedish...

I wasn't addressing you, I was addressing the knucklehead that was going on about what his name means in Swedish. So what, he's not from Sweden.

Knucklehead eh? Well I am certainly most sure you are misinformed. No matter his name (it still is Fredrik though...) he is DEFINITELY not from Copenhagen. As I say I live in the same town as he do and I can assure you I don't live in Denmark... My friend is a cousin of his, and I have on numerous occasion watched him play on Stars. Also I could link URL:s that "proves" my point, but this is not grade school (if you insist, well than I can do this)... Anyway, none of this really matters. I just wanted to share a story, but if you want to dig your head down in the sand and/or in some absurd way imply that I am lying (LOL!), than I have no problem with that.

And nope, he is not from Linkoping. But there are several swedish poker pros from Linkoping, including Erik123/TheSalmon, Pkrbt, TheSea and many many others. Also if you vist my local cardrooms website, www.svartepetterpoker.se you find some articles containing his name, but I doubt this is of any use to you (language barrier you know...)
Well this is getting a little ridiculous since I dont believe I have much reason to prove my point. I guess I was just a little annoyed by the bad tone in the comments made by wesbound.
One last thing to add though, many players uses different "handles"/names playing in the US. Or do you for example really believe Scotty Nguyen and Johnny Chan's "real" names were "Scotty" and "Johnny"? Same goes for some Swedish players though not so common...

I apologize, I was mistaken. I was taking money off his donkey ass the other day and there was another fish there as well. The other fish was from Copenhagen, Hall is indeed one of those homos from Sweden.

Tell me, Gridlock, what's with all the Swedish pros? I mean, there are quite a few of them? How do you explain it? Do they start young there? Do Swedes just pick up the game faster. You know Fred/Oren, and Erik, how did they learn the game so well? I'm curious.
I do not consider that Anderson fool who kept screaming in the 2004 WSOP to be a good player just for the screaming alone.

Apropos of nothing, this is not just true of Asian poker players, but Asians who live in the US in general.

I think the are numerous reasons to why there are many swedish pros. One reason is that most swedes started to use internet early, and that many swedish players started as soon as the first internet pokerroom saw daylight. I don't think swedes pick up the game faster than anyone else, but what I do believe is that many of these succesfull young players are extremely competative. Many come from an e-sport/gaming background and many of the has devoted extreme amounts of time to poker. If you play serious poker 10 hours a day, study books/talk poker with friends etc. than you will eventually develop into a pretty good player. Of course this goes for anyone, at any place in the world... I guess people do this to an greater extent in Sweden. After all, there aint much else to do than hide inside, eat/drink/fuck/play poker since its so damn cold here 9 months a year. ..

So, what you're saying is that even a worthless, fatso like me could get laid right now in Sweden? Great.
So, how much is Oren/Fred worth?

Actually, in Sweden you'd probably be considered a delicacy since they are all tall, fit, and blond.
