I have no stats on UTG since he is new to table and I have never seen him before. I do know that he has raised the last 4 times straight and folded to a previous reraise of mine (w/ AA). MP2 is 33.8/14.08/0.6 after 71 hands. Good line?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

SB ($1016.30)
BB ($322.75)
UTG ($225.32)

UTG+2 ($676.80)
MP1 ($145)
MP2 ($501.50)
Hero ($683.35)
CO ($442)
Button ($722)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 3, 3. SB posts a blind of $3.
UTG raises to $12, 3 folds, MP2 calls $12, Hero raises to $48, 4 folds, UTG folds, MP2 calls $36.

Flop: ($117) 3, Q, 8 (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $30, MP2 calls $30.

Turn: ($177) K (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $125, MP2 calls $125.

River: ($427) K

Final Pot: $1021

Results in white below:
MP2 has Jd Kd (three of a kind, kings).

Pf: Why reraise with 33?
Flop: why the donk-bet?
Turn/river: Standard.

Because I knew UTG and the caller were both weak (UTG was raising 4 times straight and folding to any re-raise, and caller had a 14.8 PFR% and would have reraised with any real hand). I also had a Tight-Aggressive table image and knew I would probably get respect from most of the other regulars on the table.

The donk bet on the flop was important to get him to raise with a king if he had one. The idea is to make a bet he has to at least call, but also give him the opportunity to raise and let him fall into a trap.

I like to re-raise pre-flop and I don't like this one.

Aggro opened and the ATM machine called. ATM is seeing a flop for any semi-reasonable price, then taking his hand far. If you just call pre-flop, you will get a c-bet out of UTG and ATM gets trapped in the middle. Plus someone from the blinds might come along for pot odds and make something spiffy enough to pay you off.

youse guys are misusing the term donk bet. Donk bet would be if villian called flop and lead blank turn.

I think 1/4 pot can be termed "pathetically weak and transparent sucker bet", but not donk bet. It worked though, nihnang.

I imagine the tiny flop bet never works if dude doesn't catch running Ks. Probably thought he trapped you!
