I have been going over a hand I saw recently and would just like to hear your thoughts please as to how you would have played the hand from the perspective of the MP player, given that he's holding AK of diamonds.

I've run some numbers through pokerstove and he was behind the range of QQ+ after the flop which considering the pre-flop re-raise I thought it was pretty safe to put the SB on. He has quite a few outs I can see, but I'm wondering what you thought of the continuation bet post flop given that he had been re-raised before the flop.

So my questions are ... 1. Do you think QQ+ is a good estimation of SB range, and 2. Do you think MP played this well.

Thanks

QQ+ isn't a good estimation of SB's range at all. Players at higher stakes squeeze a lot lot more often. SB's range can be so wide here pre. Once he bets flop, I'd say his range is narrowed somewhat though to probably Tx+.

MP's play is mega standard with AKs. The only part that might not be standard is not 4-betting pre.

Yeah basically what they said. You have to realize that higher stakes games are a lot different than what you'll see at 10NL. As griff said, there are a lot more squeezes so to answer your first question I have to say no. And for the second question his play seems pretty standard but I'd just ship it in with my initial raise.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

If he feels like SB isn't bluffing very much the call with AKs is standard, obviously if he feels like the guy is a habitual squeezer he's 4betting to whatever size. SB's value range is probably JJ, AK+.
Check out the new blog!!!

Thanks for the advice everyone, that's the main reason I posted as I knew there would be afair bit I was missing. I had the benefit of seeing both hands which no doubt influenced my ranging - the SB actually had QQ's.

Thanks for the advice it was very helpful, also sorry i've missed something with the the posting, didn't realise this was only for full ring. For future reference where's the best place to post 6max >600$ games?
