I know I made a mistake and I know were I think I made it. Were do you guys think I messed up

So I was playing 10/20 no limit at absolute poker, I had been at this table for about an hr, and I had a good read on the players. Hell I have played these folks before and I think I have a good read on most of them. I had made about 1200 hundred and cashed out and bought back in with 1k. I can’t remember the exact details but this is roughly what happened

Im one off the botton and I get dealt AK o/s

MP bets out 30

I raise to 60

Big blind calls 60

MP calls as well.

Flop comes out rag, A(d) K (d)

Big blind bets out 130

MP calls

I re-raise to 260

(At this point I re-raised to 260 only because I knew that the big blind had bet this to rep the ace, or to protect a ace with a weak kicker. I had seen him do this before and he was semi lose while the rest of the table was tight. He would pick up orphan pots left right and centre I was trying to trap him. He could have been on a flush draw but I don’t think he would have raised that 130 on a flush draw. He didn’t like playing flush draws. Don’t ask me why)

Big blind calls

MP folds

Turn comes out a six of clubs

He raises 250. I go all in with the rest of my stack and were siting at over 2k in the pot.

The river is another six and hes holding an A 6 (fullhouse) and I have 2 pair with aa kk.

Were do you think I messed up? I feel I should have raised more on the pre-flop to narrow it down more and I should have bet about 350ish on the flop. Comments?

So give me some legit comments other wise don't post.

The problem with FTP is that if you don't spend more time time posting and and less time playing actual poker no one takes your seriously.

You got all the money in when you were ahead and he sucked out on you. What more is there to say? If you'd made him fold by raising harder preflop or on the flop then, yes, the outcome would have been different, but bottom line is you got rivered.

Stop all the min-raisin'! Especially after someone calls in between you two and there's a flush draw out there...
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

#1 is this a 10 or 6max table? How many players are sitting?
#2 what are their stacks?
#3 why did you buyin short if you have such good reads?
#4 don't min raise

Your raise preflop should be to isolate, not to bloat the pot. Then you minraise again and give great drawing odds.

How is it that you are playing 10/20 and not understanding these concepts?

Fold preflop.

'x' out of Absolute Poker.

Play at stakes no more then one hundredth of what you are currently playing at.

If you think this is a sarcastic post it's not, and my reasoning is that you obviously don't have any understanding of the game and I don't want to see an FTR'er lose all of his money.

Like i said before, you don't get respect in this forum unless you spend more time posting and less time playing poker.

I actually am doing quite well playing at the 10/20 NL range. You guys that hate so much should drop a set and play in the higher limits, they aren't as bad as you think they are. I know im goin to get alot of posts hating on me so im not even goin to respond beyond this.

All I can say is this: PLEASE make damn sure you're playing 10/20 with at the very absolute riduclously minimum of 40 buyins. 50 is preferable.

You cats are retarded. I can’t believe your attitudes. Just cuz someone is making decent coin off of playing limits you can’t afford you have to tare them down. By the way, im not playing with 50 buy ins which I think is crazy unless that’s all you do is play poker. My bankroll is 10 buyins and I have been doing quite well. Before you guys start hating and posting shit, read what the orrignal post was.

I think this was answered fully. What did you want? A pat on the back and a shoulder to cry on for the bad beat? Puh-leeze. Some of the players that replyed to your post would eat you for lunch at the poker table. Lose the bankroll ego and look at why they think you played this hand badly. You might learn something.

Damn you like living on the edge excentric. Hope you don't go broke. I don't think you went wrong anywhere really, you tried to trap him, you succeeded, and he sucked out on you. (not too much of a fan of all the minraising you did there though) You seem to be very good at playing on your reads. GL ahead of this.

btw, this one was just too funny, still laughing about it now:

Hey

You know what, you guys are right. I shouldn’t be acting out like this. I apologize to eats bugs. But you have to understand from my point of view too, I asked for a opiion of my play and were I messed up, and everyone jumped down my throat giving me a whole, HOLYIER THAN THOU attitude. It just put me on the defensive. If you read my original post you will see that I head a good read on this guy, and I know how he plays. I have played him many times. Again, eat bugs and the rest of the FTR crew, im sorry if I stepped over the line.

i dont think anyone was intentionally trying to be mean. if you have been around for more than a couple of days, these forums tend to have just a hint of sarcasm. For the most part, people are here to critique your game. Critiques come in good and bad. if you dont want to hear the bad, dont post it. anyway, i think everyone is trying to look out because they have seen many players go broke playing out of their BR.

Good luck with everything, and please make an obvious post of when the 10/20 showdown game will be.

that is all

Stop being so god damn sensitive and you'll see people looking out for your best interest. This isn't an emotional security forum, you're talking to a bunch of asshole poker players.

As stated, the fact that you even posted this is evidence you shouldn't be at these stakes. People who earn the right to be at these stakes are ecstatic when they get $1,000 in the middle with a better two pair, regardless of how the river rapes them.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

LOL at this thread. All I've got to say is wow. Playing 10/20 with 20k and you just minraised PF and on the flop, then you get it all in as a monster favorite and lose and then ask what you did wrong. I hope you're kidding.

Gabe I had some crazy bad beats today. Like the time I b3b, pushed turn with my middle set, and lost to runner runner flush from bottom set was kind of mild, that's how bad I got screwed today.

How come you moved straight up to 1000NL by the way?
Oh yea lol...I remember now. I sometimes get all confused who's who.

Well, I played about 55k at 2/4, 20k at 3/6 and took a shot at 5/10. I've ran good for my first 10k hands up there and have a pretty decent roll for the game now so I'm gonna keep at it until I get smacked back down.
