I am the new king of HSNL.

It's pretty much a dead forum. I am going to change that. I plan on posting here, writing some good content, bringing in good players, and I have a couple other ideas.

Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Good. Whoever was the last mod of HSNL really left it in shambles.

$5/10 is still considered to be high stakes by many.

Some of us remember when it was a big deal when PokerStars opened up $10/$20NL. Some of us even remember when the highest stakes NL game that Party offered was $2/4 with $200 max buy-in.

i'm pretty sure that folding everything but AA+ to any flop raise and only reraising AQ+ JJ+ vs all opponents regardless of position is no longer a viable strategy in todays games.

Are there any strategy discussion gems in this forum (or strat guides) that we could collect into a High Stakes NLHE Digest sticky?

yeah that post doesn't apply anymore to today's 6 max even at 100NL. Too bad

And Xianti, stop trolling this thread with rude remarks to triptanes!

I remember reading his post a while ago and I actually thought the advice was solid in some situations. To rely on it in today's high stakes games though is somewhat absurd and me taking it down reflects that. I think it would be more useful in the beginner's circle or something.

I have a suggestion for Lukie, Gabe and alike (successful highstakers) - how about you pick some interesting, instructive session and post HH with comments after every hand, or at least every VPIP hand and some not quite standard PF folds - why, how, possible alternatives, estimated % of success ...

And I mean after EVERY hand, something like this:

It would be entirely -EV for these guys to make vids unless there was a large monetary reward. Metagame is huge at 10/20 and up and making a vid could cost them some serious value.

It's cool that you actually move down when you go on a downswing like this, far too many players, myself included, keeps playing the same stake to turn the downswing around quickly. More often than not it just makes the downswing bigger. I haven't had -40k days, but I've had close to half of it, and next time it happens I'll definately take some time at a lower stake to recover before keep playing at my normal stake again. The getting back to even quickly strategy is definately a bad one. Good luck rebuilding.

when you're a high stakes balla, you get to make threads like the holy thread of randomness, and they get over 2000 replies. If we can get enough traffic I might start a high stakes randomness thread where we can talk about where to play, best regulars, variance, etc. For now though I like the appearance that we're getting more traffic so I'll just leave things as is.
