[Edit]My only read on this guy was that he was loose/aggressive. He'd play any hand most hands that make it onto a starting hand chart, whether to a raise or not.[/Edit]

you two might have the same hand, AQ doesnt totally make sense here cause there was no reraise preflop, or after he got rised on the flop he didnt raise back. I think the 20$ bet just means that he is testing to see if you caught an ace. This one is a little tougher, he may have an ace but that would be a pretty screwy play. He could also be betting a flush draw.

That seems a little big for a test...

I'm guessing he had A9. Seems like a good hand for a pot-sized bet.

I know I would have folded. When a players makes a big bet he usually has a decent hand. Sure he could be bluffing, trying to make you believe he paired the ace, but I think calling bets like this will just lose you money in the long run.

But since you posted the hand here, I think he didn't have anything, and you won, right?

It's ultimatebet, if I learned one thing from there NL ring games is that I no one ever seems to raise pre flop.

I ended up folding. My biggest leak lately has been putting people on bluffs and being wrong, so after some thought I gave it up. He showed JTo. After that I shifted more attention to him and saw him bet every draw he had. Plugging him in to Poker Tracker, I found that he's currently running at a VP$IP of over 60%. Next time I see him, he's my dinner. I felt iffy about the call I made (I felt like he was overbetting the Ace and thus didn't have it, but I wasn't convinced enough to go with my gut) after seeing that I'd have won it. In the end though, I still made a profit for the day, and I've got another fish on my list. That's good enough I suppose.
