A call here probably makes money in the long run. He may have a set or a straight, but you are getting around 1.4 to 1 on your money, so you only have to win this hand about 40% of the time to make a decent profit, and I think you easily do that.

My thinking is no way he has a 47 or 79 and comes in with a raise pre flop. I put him on an Ax, in which case I havent been able to bet these guys off preflop unless I come in with a 5 euro preflop raise pretty much.

If he's a loose raiser I'd usually bump this up to 4-5E preflop.
As played I think I might find a fold here. If he wanted to push you off the pot with overs he would have probably done it on the flop. Raising the turn is a much stronger move and makes me think AA-KK.

Why would you want to push out a dominated hand? Bet as much as they will call.

Been loosing a whole lot of money doing this. As I said, they chase to the river and right now I'm in a string of them catching everything on that river card. Unless I misunderstand what you are saying.

I muck. I think he's got a bigger pair than you.

good players raise 97s on the button.

If there chasing bad odds you win, don't let a bad run of hands alter what is statically a winning play.

Im not going to dispute that. As tight as I am the women that play here probably have a bigger pair than me. But your probably talking about the hand though.

So your saying this guy is a good player, ok. I can live with that. I did however say in my opening statement that he was loose and would chase.
edit: Let me clarify why I say this. During this same session I have JJ on another table. I limp in, maybe not the best thing to do but I was in EMP and wanted to rep a weak hand. Although JJ is certainly not the nuts. Anyhow the everyone besides me had folded to the BB who comes in with a $2 raise ($=euro). I call. Flop comes 789 offsuit. I figure my chances of him having JT are slim since I had 2 of the J's in my hand and its a 6 max game. Also dont figure on him raising $2 with a 56. He checks and I bet $5 and he calls. Turn is a 5, so board looks like this 5789 rainbow. I bet $2 he calls. River is K. I check, he checks and shows 62o. Was he a good player? Maybe, but I doubt it, he was most likely just a chaser who didnt think my $5 bet was enough to put him off his draw. Just my bad luck here.

Gotcha, been trying not to. I'm still continuing to bet when I feel I am ahead or have the hand. Just hoping it turns back in my favor soon.

Ok, here is the whole hand. I had him read right, he was chasing while trying to bet me off the hand. It was just my bad luck that I lost this hand. Is this a bad beat, Yes. But I was wanting to know if I played it right and how others would read this hand.
