Im a preety lag player, playing about 30-40% of the hands so i dont get much respect, this one hand had me a lil confused cause the initial raiser played it in a similar fasion that i myself would play trip aces. I was thinking about laying it down but ;/
This player is new to the table so i do not yet have a read on him.

I'm probably folding preflop. You're not guarenteed to be last to act after the flop. And there's no guarentee that somebody won't go over the top of you preflop. If that happens, what then? Plus, I'm a tight-tight playler, no 79s for me with a raiser in front of me.

If I hit a flop like that I'm pushing the turn hard and losing my money to A7.

I call the river and pay off the bigger boat, too.

More often than not you are going to be ahead in this situation, and will gladly take this dude's money.

The orginal raiser only has around 50bb, so you don't have the required impiled pot odds with 97s to make this call. Once you make it, you need to play for stacks here.

Im not putting the original raiser on a big draw hand, its a weak opening bet , most likley 2 paint cards, im playing mainly because of position purposes preflop if he dosnt hit his flop i will take this pot down which is more than half the time.i dont mind being 2-3 dog if i have position.

His play its just very unusual, i knew this hand was made on the flop and i coulnt put him on 77 or 99, its possible but unlikley, and check raise definatley indicates a lot of strengh but I was unable to determine the level of his strength, this is one of the more unusual hands i played in a while that is why I am very intereted in people's comments

If you were in his shoes, would you make this same play? assuming you dont know my cards, just based on the texture of the flop.

perfect flop for u .. can't put him on a set there, so i wouldve pushed on the river. I also would fold preflop unless there was more callers or i was in the bb, but obviously thats not the point of this question.

Strange. I'd probably play it the same way. His check-raise of a flop bet then raise, followed by a turn check when the board pairs looks a lot like a fish or average player with A-A. I would also probably check behind on the turn then just call the river, figuring there was still a reasonable chance he was overplaying A-K.

No way i throw him on AA like you put in chat. I put him on A-high kicker or even KK some retard hand.

thats an easy call in my books.

How new to the table? Like this is his first hand new? Too bad this didn't happen an orbit or two later, because it would probably only take 2 or 3 hands seeing this guy show down cards to give you a pretty good read on him: Fish. Nice attempted double check raise . I call the river, but next time i push over because thsi guy is a donk.
