Why fold preflop? That's not even a raise. Then he checks the flop and min bets the turn which keeps most people on a draw in the hand. Horrible postflop play on his part. Yes he hit trips but he should have bet very big on the turn at least. Nice push. It is amazing how many times a push is seen as weaker than a normal size raise and is called.

damn r8ed, my recent post "I got the nuts" is very simillar to what you encountered.
Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker.
