Original raiser is a relatively aggro stealer... I think Im ahead of his range for sure.

When Drew calls in the SB Im putting him on a small pp.... I think he almost always 3bets any premium hands in that spot.

Drew is running at 16/9/3

Party Poker, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 8 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

MP2: $247.55
CO: $205.15
BTN: $198
SB: $243.65
Hero (BB): $261.70
UTG: $75.55
UTG+1: $213.70
MP1: $216.80

Pre-Flop: A Q dealt to Hero (BB)
3 folds, MP2 raises to $6, 2 folds, SB calls $5, Hero raises to $24, MP2 folds, SB calls $18

Flop: ($54) 2 2 9 (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $36, SB raises to $72, Hero folds

Results: $126 Pot

When he calls preflop, we are deep enough for him to set mine....

WTF is he doing this with???? I almost shoved over the top of him but we didnt really have any history and I hadnt been out of line akaik, so I laid it down.

Did he really flop a boat here?

PS. min reraises tilt me

Since when does drew play on party?

And he's such a nit that his range is basically 99+ here.

Its actually Pokerstars.

I bet representing a big overpair. I put him on a small pp that would fold to a cbet if he didnt set up. I didnt want to check and let 22-TT bet and Id have to fold. Seems like a great board to cbet... although I could be very wrong???

Is this a standard check/fold?

thing is youre not in a standard situation anymore. you KNOW the player. you know what he is capable of. you just dont know if he is playing you straight up or getting frisky with you in this hand. imo, standard no longer applies.

and, you have to know by now that the minraise is designed to tilt you these days. its either a bluff, draw, or really friggin strong. thats what you have to decide here.

Call. Shoving looks too bluffy. It really depends on flow, I might shove just because it does look bluffy and I do funny things like that with good hands sometimes.

I didn't put you on a big pair because you allowed me to set mine.

wtf drew how could you "set mine" for 18 dollars oop and with shallow stacks

also, your pf call isn't rofl bad or anything but u definitely aren't getting loose action from worse hands on any flop thats favorable to you, so i'd say its a thin call at best, mild to significant spew at worst.

Believe it or not, I edited my post before submitting it and at first it included, "brutal tilty call by me preflop btw."

Also, in my spot preflop after the 3bet, my potential profit in the hand sits at $252... so calling $18 to set mine is also not rofl bad.

calling deuce deuce there almost invariably will not show a profit, unless villains range is basically exactly QQ+

Improper use of the word 'invariably.'

i'm tired, but pretty sure i used it properly

as in, there is almost no set of parameters (reads etc) that you could use to justify calling there with 22. I say almost because if gametight was a massive fish and his range was exactly AA then of course it would be a fine call. But vs virtually anyone else it would be terrible.

mcat, yes taht and also AQ is the number one best candidate to check behind.

If he had some random air type hand or even AJ/AT it would be a much much better cbet than this.

So Renton... couple questions,

Im guessing you would also be checking behind here with AK right?

If I check behind with AQ here and the turn comes an offsuit blank, are you calling a half pot bet? or are you done with the hand?
