This guy gave me so much shit about this hand. Calling me a dumbass and how he hates to see horrible players win. Yadda Yadda

Maybe the call was slightly loose, I don't know but I don't think it was as bad as he mad it sound. I hit my pair on the turn, I wouldn't have called a bet on the turn if I hadn't paired.

You played it a little passively. If you're gonna raise (especially in 6max) give em a little meat. Not 3BB more like 6BB. After that, calling the 3 bucks is ok. Drawing with 2 overs is not a bad draw (25%). Turn you shoulda re-raised and ended it there. River: What did you think he had? You felt like sticking with it and got lucky. Next time, don't let a 6 scare you. Into a raised pot when the board paired 6s you shouldn't even need to worry about them.

Yea now looking back, I have no idea why I didn't raise his turn bet. It was the 6's that scared me and partially because the 3x raise could have left him in with K6, A6, etc... I think I let the position scare me as I was out of position when I raised. The table was kinda tight though and there was a very high chance that everyone would have folded to a 6x bet preflop.

i agree with the bigger raise preflop and the turn reraise, however, i think the flop call was bad (unless you had a great read on the guy). he bet the pot, effectively ruining any kind of drawing odds that you might have. if he wasn't a dumbass (playing that bottom pair hard! ) i'd argue that you didn't even have implied odds.

with that said, i don't really see how mr. "i called a preflop raise with q4 off and caught bottom pair so i'm going to go broke on it" can really berate you.
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

He had been bluffing at pots some in late position so, I knew there was a chance that he had nothing and with 2 overs I felt it was ok to call. Like I stated if I didn't hit anything on the turn I was folding.

6Max.

ATo is playable for a raise if you can play marginal hands well. 6max is not about flopping a good draw and running with it, it's more about figuring out whos rags are best and sticking with them and sniffing out the monsters along the way.

I think 3xbb raise is fine for 6max when you're first in, unless people at the table will call large preflop raises with junk (which might be the case considering this guy's 64 call). I think you gotta lay it down or raise it big on the flop here. Smooth calling a roughly pot-sized bet with just ace high and two overs is fairly loose-weak. After the ace comes on the turn, I am just calling it down too, so I wouldn't say you neccessarily misplayed it there--no reason to take him out of the lead if he's bluffing or donate more money if he's beat. Really, the only way you could avoid losing a good chunk of money this hand is giving him credit for a better hand than you on the flop that he won't lay down and get the hell out of dodge.

3BB is not enough in 6max. The only raise I ever make is 6BB reguardless of my hand and people will always call. If i'm raising, it's 6BB.

One of my favorite responses to loudmouths that can't get over it is to let them go on for a while and then type in....

Usually sets them on tilt for a while and gives me a chuckle.
