I had this hand last night. I usually limp or fold the suited connectors because my post-flop play is still in development and my reads are not always reliable.
Anyway, this guy bet 12xbb out of position and I put him on a premium hand. AA, KK, QQ or AK. But wasn't sure. As you will see, I de-stacked him with my 67s vs AA!
He called me a fish when he lost, of course. I was incredibly proud of my bold call. But maybe this was a terrible chase. Coments?

I can understand calling a normal raise, but 12 times the big blind is a bit much to be calling off before the flop. Most of the time you're just going to have to muck your hand immediately on the flop.

Money isn't deep enough to call that. For a s00ted connector you either need to be the aggressor or call off less than 5% of the smaller stack.

Thanks!
I knew it seemed more like a chase than an outplay.
Can someone explain the #s behind the 5% for me? I'm guessing it's because you'll make a hand one in 20, but I don't know.
I'm trying to 'get' the suited connector thing. When to play, when to raise with it, when to fold it, etc.
Thanks for more comments.

Pocket pairs you can call up to 10% (the math is in another post.) I've heard the 5% number before and it's a pretty good guess given that 22 has better implied pot odds than 54s. At some point I was going to work out the math, but it's really complicated and when Party had 50bb stacks I quickly figured it wasn't worth it.

Basically it's too cards that don't suck and you don't have to worry too much about domination with them in a tight game.
