*** SUMMARY ***

Why would he re-raise my pretty big raise with this hand? I had been raising pre-flop so he should know I had something good. Does it make any sense? And why even call my raise in the first place?

I was thinking about the call on the turn for a long time, the reason behind my call is that if he had a house, he would not go all in, he would bet less to make me raise him and get the pot bigger. And the chances that he had flush were pretty slim since raising the flop that much gives him bad odds on the flush draw. I was still worried about flush though, since I don't really get the way he plays. Do you agree with my reasoning?

He caught top pair in a pot he shouldn't be in. You raised big and when reraised you just called. He made the incorrect assumption that this meant you had no queen because he's a >-}}}>. What he didn't remember is that with each successive representation, even stronger hands will become passive.

This is just an inexperienced player manufacturing false fold equity. I see it all the time. I don't even think he was trying to rep the trips, though I wouldn't put it past him. It's just a fish who thinks top pair is always GOD, and you suck. Then they pay you. Standard stuff really.

yes, fish will bet even harder when you call their other bluff, they get attached to the pot.. they lose a few dollars on the first bluff and think oh no, now i've lost money, and proceed to take another stab at it.

Take this for example, very different situation but it shows how a fish will take big stabs at hands that just arent folding, I cant explain why he did this other than that he's just plain stupid. and thank god he was lol.

- flushed board, i'm not getting paid here unless he has something decent, or i can make him think i'm bluffing. Hence the vast overbet.
1ijackd: raises $49 to $66 and is all-in - thats where he shows his intelligence.

admittedly its heads up, so theres less chance i have flopped the nuts, but still.. someone care to take a stab at why he thinks his top pair can push me out of this pot? He risked $60 when i've already shown huge strength.. why?

I'll tell you why. Your overbet was an indication of fear of flush, so he decided to represent it. He was stupid, because everyone knows you pay off a flopped flush heads up if you caught a big piece unless they blatantly tell you "I flopped a flush". Then you only pay it off if you're stupid.

I doubt it. I think he probably believed he had the best hand and was clumsily trying to protect it.

I don't think he'd feel the need to "bluff" when he has top pair in a heads-up pot.

he had TP in HU on a 3-flush board and was bet into huge, id probably push too thinking opp was on a draw, it was just a unlucky hand. top pair is pretty hard to get away from heads up.
