this seems to happen way to often and really makes u feel bad but imagine having your set cracked like this 8-) It is the same when u have pocket AA, you prefer your opponent having KK instead of, well, 44 because of the str8 possibilities
pingviini taps Borax's shoulder
U will feel lot better after cracking somebodys AA like this 8-)

Not raising this pre-flop made me cry.

Thanks pingviiini
About raising preflop Fnord. As I said, this table had been very tight and
raises of 1-2$ preflop had folded everyone for my AA, KK, JJ, 3x AK and several easy bluffs to steal. I was getting lots of nice hands that evening, but for some reason the action at this table always started after the flop. I was trying a limp here to get more than a 2-3$ pot and it worked just fine until that straight came around.

AA/KK this is not. Re-raise pre-flop. If the action sucks, find a better game/table.

I lost in the exact same way when I had my wired 9's cracked on a straight draw by my opponent's wired 6's. All you can do is just shrug your shoulders and say "that's poker", and move on. I wound up bouncing back and beating him, so it all worked out. Just don't get tilted by a beat like this and move on (if possible).

yep, not much to do about this kind of hands. Reraise was not an option since he was all in.
