Roger
Let's get past the bad play to limp in, in early position. When do I let this go. When do I get the read that he has it actually, and isn't drawing to it...

You can't get that read since he just smooth calls your raise on the flop. Besides playing the hand in the first place, which you already know is a mistake, you played it well enough.

Once you're already in the hand (postflop), then you did good by raising to see where you were at. When he showed weakness by checking on the turn, you bet into it; this was also good. You check behind on the river with merely TPGK. I like your plays on all these streets.

If I have to criticize, then perhaps it was that you bet $10 on the turn. $8 would have probably sufficed here. But yeah. This is why you don't limp KTo from EP.

Thanks for the notes guys.

You are right on the $10 bet, a $8 bet would have the same effect....

I wish there was a book on the art of betting...
I feel that it is my weakest area.... well weakest area that is used so often... any one have ideas thoughts and such...
