Do we slow down for this overcard? Check or bet? If bet, bet what % of the pot?

DrNoChance....?

It's a big pot and just over $8 to call. That queen helped him it would seem. Make the crying call and pray it's QT? Or fold despite the large pot confident it's AQ, AT or KJ? As I said it's my first hand at this table, no read on whether he's fishy enough to call down my flop raise/turn bet with 2nd pr and no kicker (QT).

Once upon a time I understood this game, but I'll give it the 'old scrub poker try...

1. Fold
2. Make it $3 or $4 to go. Check the turn unimproved. If re-raised, go all-in and hope it's 3-way.
3. Bet $6, fold to a raise
4. Cry and call, pot is too big. Try to get your money in faster with Aces up.

1: I folded. The other two idiots had a raggy flush draw and a raggy str8 draw with stuff they never should have been in there with in the first place. I still like the fold, I'm not that results oriented.

2. I pushed. I figured only a set would have me in real trouble. I get one caller. My 3 comes on the river and I start to cheer.....then he flips over TT for the boat. Why would he slowplay a set on that draw ridden board? Damn! Maybe a standard raise would have been better than a push, but I'm losing my stack on this one any way you slice it most of the time.

3. I bet exactly $6 . And I folded to his raise. Too many other hands he could have called the flop with to just give up without a bet here. I might have been a bit more tempted to slow down if an ace had fallen instead of the king, but I still probably fire out a bet.

4. I cried and called, he had AQ I didn't exactly play my aces up here slowly, but I could have bet the turn harder I suppose.

What a crappy night at the ring tables yet again. 2 steps forward, 3 steps back. I was +80 on my most recent bonus run through Party Poker, now it's only +27. Ah well, so long as I'm at least break even when I clear that bonus I suppose.....

1. Fold.

2. Call it, then if you do hit your nut flush/two pair/set and these guys carry on betting and calling you stand to win a huge pot. Then if you don't hit anything you can gladly fold to a pot sized bet.

3. Bet around $4 again, then if he makes a raise you can fold it.

4. Gonna have to call that, there's too much in the pot already.

Of course these are only my opinions!

I would make it $6 to go on the flop, setting up a really big turn bet. I like to raise any non-trival bet double the minimum.
