I play at these stakes, and for the most part play is pretty straightforward. When you see somebody do something dumb on the flop like reraise you after barely a minbet, it probably isn't a bluff. With that said out of position you should probably bet this flop. You have a good, yet very beatable hand and you should be wanting to win this thing now, so don't check. Fire 60-80% of the pot and beware of a raise.
Save your stories 'cuz they're all the same..

Agreed. Also, AK is in my preflop reraise range against most players. I like to try and isolate in these spots as AK is very vulnerable in multiway pots.

so we're convinced he has a set or donk 2 pair? the timer went out for me on this hand because i could not believe someone would play aq or aj like this. you would think Ax would just call the check/raise. for me it was one of those sick hands i probably would have lost money if i had a time bank even though my gut says he has me crushed

thanks for the insight on how i should play it. just creating the fold equity by reraising is probably really good. seems like very little people call reraises preflop

I've seen it personally. It's quite a donk trend.

How many times has your gut said that, your head overrules, and you end up getting stacked? I asked a not very wise player about this and he said "it's called a read". Maybe even if it's unconcious. I tend to go with my gut unless PAHUD says explicitly otherwise (and I mean convincingly otherwise). I am on an 11 buy in upswing since I started listening.

i don t fold this - without a solid read that this means nuts from villain - in$ a million years. min is call him down. i very possibly push right now. i have seen this with a worse ace so many goddman times it s silly. i ve even seen this w kk ffs.

in the long run i think it's -ev to fold plain and simple.

i prefer to reraise preflop as well btw.

but

trusting your gut is usually not a bad thing...
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

I think he had something like 23. He made a tiny enticement bet, Hero checkraised, and he minraised. This line screams donk strength. Absent any reads on this guy I'd be really reluctant to put much more money into this hand.

i usually like to call this flop donkey raise just cuz', and then play the rest of the hand as cheaply as possible (ie. folding most of the time to anything)

ps. i am finished with my content rampage now.

You can't and he sucks so I like to give a him a gift by reraising ai on the turn.

beware though I tend to look brilliant or extremely stoopid....
