You need to fold preflop more often.
Is this play money?

We all need to start somewhere else.
Play money is a waste of time and effort.

Quoted for truth.
Is there a reason this is in the HH forum?

I'd jump into the shorthanded .50/1.00 tables at party. They are great and you can see 50% of the flops. Ill show you around if you want...

Play money is useful to learn the rules and structure of the game and to figure out some basic strategy. I suggest you use play money along with some good reading (Sklansky & Brunson) as an introduction to the game.
The problem is that you will quickly master play money and then try cash games to discover you have some bad habits that you need to lose before you get skinned alive. I like the suggestion for playing .1/.2. Here you will run up against a little skill now and then to keep you on the right path.

Are these lo limit games limit?
If so, surely you can agree that is nothing like NL? What would it teach me about how to play NL? Having read Brunson's bible I have at least gathered that!

There is indeed .01/.02 NL games at Stars, lowest limit games are .02/.04. To learn how the game works, I'd recommend playing the .01/.02 games as it is near impossible to leave a table down by a lot.
Once you have a good understanding, however, try the .05/.10 and .10/.25
