I didnt have a read on this guy because I just joined the table. He seemed like a solid player, most likely LAG type. My flop bet was to get information, I knew that would be enought to take out any flush draws. On his turn reraise, I put him on an AQ. I had to call the river bet based on pot odds.

How did I get myself in this situation? Is there a way out, if there is I couldnt see it. Any ideas?

btw: Im staticbIOU2

Thanks

Personally I think KQo is a fold from early position. If you call with it somebody can raise behind you and you'll probably have to lay your hand down. It's a tough hand to raise with early because the majority of hands that call you will usually have you beat preflop (AK, AQ, Ax, any PP).

With this particular hand, the way it played out, you've got to raise the roof after the turn. THIS IS ONLY IF YOU THINK YOU ARE AHEAD. Your $3 bet into a $12 pot gives mad pot-odds if he's on a diamond draw (which he was) or if he's got an OESD (which he had). When he min-raised you warning bells should have gone off like crazy that you're probably dead (which you actually weren't, but still)...Good job in slowing down and not getting crazy with it (usually with a betting pattern like this you're done).

If you think your Queen with King kicker is good on the turn I think you have to punch it, though. On this particular hand he had a ton of outs so he probably calls you down either way....It's a tough decision, one that's made much easier just folding this preflop from early position. You either win small, lose small, or lose HUGE with a hand like KQo. It's not a great hand to get paid with.

At least that's what me-thinks.

Its borderline whether you should play kq from early position, i generally fold.

once you're in this situation, all i say is wtf is that turn bet? lead that out with 8-10, there isn't really a reason to think you're behind right there. If he calls again, 'm done with the hand.
