If hes loose I am going to take the guess that hes got 23. Or your set held up.

Whatever happened here, you played it fine. If he's real passive pre-flop I might guess AK or AQ. He could possibly have 32 if it's 32 of diamonds I guess. Either way, you can't worry about it. Good playing.

Opp calls at the end. Unless he was out of chips, he would've raised there with a straight. So either your set held up or you got over-set.

But yes you played right whatever the outcome.

It held up fine! I asked him what he had and he said: "An A... I thought you were bluffing". It´s funny because I had done nothing "bluffingly" since I got there... Played pretty tight and folded if the flop didn´t hit.

Later, I changed gears and started betting pot sized with A's and K's on the flop, me having nothing. They all folded like... ehr, things that fold a lot.

It was a good run, I tripled my initial stack.

I actually went all-in on the river, but history didn´t tell... I´ll change that.

yup played it very well.
In this case it's unlikely that he had something like QQ so you can be pretty safe.

Not so sure about what you said you did later, though. Betting with A,K on baord if you really have nothing might get the pack to fold a couple times but it sure can get you into trouble too. if you have TT or JJ then that's another story.

A little lesson for you Waggho.

A fish's biggest fear is to get bluffed. Big bets look like bluffs. In their minds, weak means strong and strong means weak has been pounded into their poker brains and now the think every big hand is slow played and every bluff is surrounded by huge bets and raises.

To a fish, your actions looked like a bluff.

That's why jamming the pot with TPTK is a profitable move.

You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

It worked the first time, then I tried it again and it worked again. Then I left the table.
If they had not folded, I would (hopefully) have get out of the hand.
I think you can actually get into more trouble with JJ, as it is harder to fold.
