I waited extra long on the turn before checking, which I think made this work. Then he throws out a bet that says "I hope you didn't set me up for a check-raise". He must have had a pair or two or a low flush.

I like to wait a long time to check when i plan to c/r bluff too. Makes it seem like you're debating a bet but are afraid he'll fold, then when you raise immediately without hesitation when he bets weak, you look super strong. Nh.

That's exactly what I did. Right when he bet I reraised quick. This postflop play is something I started getting better at recently. I was way too passive about a month ago. Now I'm betting when I sense weakness. People like Rondavu have opened my eyes to how to do this successfully.
