This is a common sort of hand that I seem to lose a fair few chips on what seems to be on a too common a basis. It's early in a 5/0.5 SNG. ANy comments on improvments to my play gratefuly recieved

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (8 handed)

Button (t1600)
SB (t990)
BB (t1330)
UTG (t1600)
UTG+1 (t1260)
MP1 (t1950)
MP2 (t3300)
Hero (t1470)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, T.
UTG calls t20, UTG+1 calls t20, MP1 calls t20, MP2 calls t20, Hero calls t20, Button calls t20, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t160) 7, A, Q (8 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets t120, Button calls t120, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls t120, MP1 folds, MP2 folds.

Turn: (t520) 5 (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets t100, Button calls t100, UTG+1 calls t100.

River: (t820) 9 (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets t100, Button raises to t200, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls t100.

Final Pot: t1220

Results in white below:
Hero has Ac Ts (one pair, aces).
Button has 9h Qs (two pair, queens and nines).
Outcome: Button wins t1220.

you need to bet that turn harder. You don't want people with second pair calling you down.
If I had a hammer
I'd drop in the morning
I'd drop in the evening..

...with correct pot odds. Bet at least t300 on the turn. Check/call the river.

Fnord-

In the above hand would you be thinking he also has an ace with a possible Jack or Queen kicker ? I would be worried with my 10 kicker of getting beat.
-It seemed like a good idea at the time-

That's always my thinking with AT, I hate that hand. But if you are going to bet your hand, as the best hand, you need to bet higher on the turn otherwise your showing weakness and giving good odds to the Q.
Is that guy still part of the forum??
