Where did I go wrong here?

Edit: the table had been quite passive, with several PFR being folded to, hence with the KKQQ on the flop I was aiming at a check-raise, rather than an opening raise that might induce a total fold. Bad idea?

SO you're saying ALWAYS raise the flop and don't read the table?

Read the table by seeing how they react to your bet, how does checking help you?

Two pair is not a license to print money, especially if there are two broadway cards on the flop. There are 5 people in the hand, do you realize how many draws can be out there? Dont give them a free card, make them pay to see the next card. Lets see, possible hands your opponents might have: AJ, AT, JT, T9. So if you give a free card, any A, J, T or 9 could potentially give someone a straight. Thats 16 cards you dont want to see on the turn, quite a lot. Not even mentioning the possibility of someone hitting a set on the turn (trust me it happens).

Start fastplaying your hands, you will thank me.

2 gems in one thread.

A conversation from earlier today, after a calling station called me down to the river where the 3 to a straight hits, I'm holding two pair, and I get put AI:

I: Well, looks like 2 pair no good this trip
Player to my left, not in the hand: Yeah right, you'd call if you really had 2 pair
I: Lol, I hope you call me with 2 pair when I do that to you

I know, taunting fish = -EV, but damn...

OK fair eough good advice thanks. Given the way it was playing I expected them to fold to a bet ... but I guess winning the pot there is better than sucking out later.

You said the table is passive, so you decided to check-raise.

Do you see why this makes no sense?
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.
