I've had the same thing happen many times. Just trying to induce a bluffer but to no avail.
Recently I was in the big blind at a full table of a MTT. Everyone folded to the SB who limped in. I checked and flopped trips. He checked, I checked, the turn came. He checked, I bet minimum. He called. The river came and gave me a full house. He checked and I thought about betting 3X BB, but hoped to bring out a bluff and put out just the minimum bet. He folded.
Great hand, especially head to head and I won a grand total of 2X BB. Ouch.
And Toasty, I feel your pain. I folded quads just late last week. It stings for a little bit.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

Nice flop! Gotta love that.
Considering that everyone was checking to you on every street, the pot-size bet on the river was too much. You gotta figure that no one hit anything and bet something small -- maybe a third, or at the most, half the pot -- and hope someone has a little pair and calls you.
By betting the pot, you're either representing the pair of Kings (which apparently, no one caught) or a slow-played monster (which you had).

My worst ever was in a MTT on the button with 55, it called around the CO, who raised a small amount. I called, UTG raises all-in, someone else raises all-in, the CO raises all-in. Frustrating as hell to fold with such a large pot. They flip over in order TT, QQ, AA; I'm feeling all warm & happy inside with my show of discipline. 55x is the flop, I almost fell out of my chair. I would have put out the two with TT and AA, and I would have a huge overall chip lead, with ~5 tables left in the tourney.
damn hindsight
