What do you think of this move, My notes:
Decided to trap post flop vs his (likely) QQ-KK... may of been better to trap by leading out at flop hoping for a re-raise to build pot? ..Then easier to get AI at turn. This is a great way to take a stack off someone with KK that won't get AI PF as the trap diagrams I have overpair (lower than theirs!) till I c/r or re-raise. Is this worth the risk of a Q or K flopping and having tricky desicion wrt op flopping trips?

just had a simular situation, as he was short stacked I flat called preflop to try and trap for his stack post-flop, but the turn really screwed me up:

is this rubbish play or quite a good approach considering he's short stacked?

im a big fan of using AA even KK (if short handed) in this manner. I found it more and more difficult to get opps to commit their stacks preflop. Therefore im trying to induce them into flopping something or seeing a flop they like so that i can take maximum reward from it.
If we assume you only get busted something like 1 in 8 for the set which means you lose then probably most of the time making the play is +ev imo unless you can get them all in before the flop.
my experience upto 100nl has shown that opps dont expect you to cold call a preflop reraise with AA, they expect you to push and are wary of it. keep making the play imo
edit i say this also because we seem to have had a lot of people talking about folding KK preflop in all sorts of situations, so my thinking is let them think you have a weaker PP TT/JJ or even AK rather than the rockets and let them hang themselves so to speak

I have 2 ways I play AA/KK. Fast and faster. I also don't min-raise a whole lot.

ya i dont see what min-raising acomplishes unless you are trying to draw for cheap or something and dont want them to raise more
