Did I play this OK? No reads.
I think I should maybe have been more aggressive, but I've been hit by slow plays too often. Even so, I don't think I played it well.
My logic for this was bet on the flop to scare off a flush draw. Hopefully if they have the flush they'll raise. Then check on the turn in case they're just slow playing it, and not build the pot too much.

hm. you usually can't scare away flush draws. This UTG limp-call I generally attribute to a little pp until something tells me otherwise. so... if it's a mediocre pp and one of them is a club, he's drawing -- at best -- to something like a 9-high flush.
Yeah, you gotta keep betting this. The way that turn goes you have NO good play on the river except maybe checking and inducing a bluff.

I agree. If he's drawing to the flush you just gave him a free card. Bet $2 on the turn, and if he calls, put out a blocking bet about half the pot on the river. If he calls, you get a cheap-ish showdown. If he raises, you can safely fold.

3/4 pot the flop, half pot the turn. 1/3ish the river. If opp raises just dump it. Im building the pot as normal with what i think is a better hand or else im well behind and losing only 10-15bbs.

So everyone basically agrees that I should have been more aggressive, as I think myself.
For the record he called and showed A9. Same pair, lower kicker. It seems that every time I'm not agressive and scared of the slow play I win at showdown, and every time I am aggressive the opp has a slow played monster.
I guess without reads being aggressive every time would be higher EV at $10NL.
