A9 doesn't beat me. Do you think this was a bad call?

Well I think it depends. Without a read, I'd say "fuck me" and I'd try my hardest to fold. Whether I do or not depends on my mood. But intuition says yea, fold. But is this guy a bluffer? Is he really LAGGy? Does he like to push people around on bluffs? If yes, then no, its not a bad call. Situational I guess. Also, I think a raise on the flop would really tell you what the villain has. He's probably not folding unless hes a really solid player and doesn't like to play trips with a bad kicker. When he 3-bets you, get it all in, and then you can call it a bad beat without any hesitation.

The only hands that beat me are 99, or the case 6. AA-TT or 9x all make this raise.

You really put him on 99 or 6x here?

Yea, AA-TT do make this raise, but what do you think the chances of that are. Your calls are not telling him that you're going away. If he puts you on a flush draw for calling then making a big river bet, then it's a good call. But I think he has the 6. AA-TT aren't strong enough to stay in the hand this long, so 99 and a 6 are your most likely hands, I believe.

I dont think 6x is very likely, considering he raised pf. 99 is obviously your worry, but i probably make a crying call and hope he's overplaying a high pp.

hmmm the more I look at this hand the more im pondering over weather folding is the best option (the board has paired twice). Without a read I think I call here unless his re-raise is more than 5x my raise, if its that big then relative to what I invested, it may be worth laying (http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...528&highlight=)

He didn't raise, he called a raise. And given that call, a 65s or 76s is reasonable, albeit incorrect. Combine it with that betting pattern, and I think you have a recipe for the case 6.. Though 99 is still a reasonable possibility. I just think there are many more ways for this to be a 6 than 99 or other overpairs.

9 or overzealous overpair or 8 can all do this, for 100 into a 300 pot i think i'm calling. yea you can probably find a fold to the reraise if you're willing to put more effort into it than i am at this moment, but losing to quads with the third nuts? this is among the worst of calls?

I call that all day without a very good read, you will see a lot of hands that you beat at showdown more often than you will see the case 6. Raise the turn.

He's not afraid of you in the least on the river. Even 99 might be a little afraid of the slowplayed 6 and just call.
But perhaps not...since you seemed to indicate this was a bad beatish (really just an outdraw) it looks like he had 99...but I wouldn't put it past him to have the 6 either.

Still a call I think.

I'd say the person who made the 'worst call' comment over-looked the fact that you had a 888xx FH and not just a 66688 FH.

Okay, so I was the guy who made the "worst call" comment. I was being a little harsh because bad beat threads are supposed to be about having a great hand, getting it all in with the best of it and losing to someone who made a horrible play/call getting extremely lucky. Bad beat posts should not involve villain doing nothing wrong and hero playing like shit.

But anyway, I still think it is an awful call and I'll explain why. Since you've provided no reads, I assume random 200NL opponent which generally means this guy is capable of thought.

So anyway, this guy doesn't make the PFR; he calls it. So we put him on a pocket pair or suited connecting shit. He bets the flop which to me means 6x, 8x, or PP 99-JJ (QQ-AA would probably reraise preflop). He's interested in figuring out what the raiser has to figure out if he has the best hand if he has 8x, 99-JJ, or how much money he can make if he has the 6. To his surprise he gets action not from the PFR but from the other caller. The turn brings another 6 and he bets again; I don't think this changes his possible hand range much. You have to be at least a little annoyed with this turn card; it probably kills your action slightly but you've no reason to believe at this point he has the case 6.

The river is where you suck. You bet out $50 into a $80 pot. Think about what this means to your opponent. Your bet looks like "Oh shit, I have a nutty ass hand that I need to bet because my opponent might just check behind and then I'll have lost a shit ton of value". A blocking bet here would probably be $25-30, since your opponent has bet 12 and 18 on the flop and turn, respectively. If you had bet 25 $ish and he came over the top, this might well be read as a FU and your 8/9 trying to shut down the action, pay my TT+ off bitch. But you bet 50 and he comes over the top all in. Thus, I'm taking TT+ off his range (KK-AA are highly unlikely anyway). The way you played this hand, it looks to a thinking opponent like YOU have the case 6. Thus in a high stakes game I would expect just a call from any hand but the case 6. But here it could easily be an overzealous 99 thinking OMG i just spiked top boat all in!! In either case, he has one of the two hands that beat you. So unless you know this guy is not a solid player, I think this call is really bad.

Anyone who disagrees with me is probably a moron.

I don't like the way the hand was played from hero's perspective, but I probably call on the end there as well.
