Alright, I'm putting this player on QJ or KQ with an BB limp and playing this way on this board. Can I accept more risk on the turn and make more out of this hand considering he's betting into me? After playing a lot of cheap MTT tourney's and getting flushed out on hands I'm not giving odds to chase I've been playing a bit too aggressive with flush draws on the board, perhaps....

Don't tap the glass. I don't beleive I've ever said "fold equity" at a table unless I was goofing with other aware players. I get out my inner table coach here so I can say all sorts of things at the table to manipulate my opponents.

Don't stall so much before making a play either. I took a tip here from Soupie and like to go about 5-10 sec before making any non-trivial play.

Everything else is standard.

I do think i need to just stop chatting at the tables. I talk a lot as a person. I always have something to say and very rarely is it just a stupid comment. I may talk a lot but its always with a point. I'm beginning to realize though, that in an online room, my chatting or trying to understand a hand only makes players think that i'm one of those "knows a lot but is a shitty player" player. Perhaps I am, but basically mentioning odds, or anything of any seriousness only makes me look fishier it seems, I was kinda joking with that guy and the stall is tough, I went to reraise and then noticed my intitial raise was gonna leave me with very little in my stack, I wanted to raise more, but then backed it down. dunno....

Poker is a gambling game. Stop playing the odds and thinking on the surface and start gambling! It's a good balance for your inner-nit and makes it easy to shake off a bad beat or poor decision.

GAMB00L!
RAISE!
GIVE ME A DEUCE!
Nice hand, SEE YOU ON THE FROP!

Take a good look the next time you see someone really destroy this game. It's the thinking gamblers.

GIMME A DEUCE!

Next time you see someone horribly butcher a hand, say something to encourage them. Stick up for the fish when the table coach digs in on him. Give misinformation on how you would have played a hand. Get into the wrong side of an argument with the table coach (but just wrong enough to not look sarcastic.) Show as much gambling spirit as you can muster. It's good for you, it's good for the game and it's a lot of fun!

I know this sounds weird, but i've never been a gambler, more of a strategist. People ask to play me for money in golf all the time, and i generally don't even though more times than not I'll come out ahead. Perhaps this is where my head is all wrong, I love the creative challenge, but I don't take stupid risks, and a lot of times I end up not taking any risk at all. I need to change this, at least in poker, and in many aspects of life, golf seems to be working lol it pays for college....
