8 handed, 50 nl, bodog, 9pm EST.
You find yourself K K in the CO
3 limpers to you, you raise to 3 dollars, Button calls, sb calls, bb calls, 2 limpers call.
Flop comes 622r
SB open pushes for 45 and it folds to you with only button left to act after you.
The question is "Is he pushing and hoping KK can't fold or is he pushing becuase he's a badonkadonk and has 88 or A6?"

lol @ hand history.
what a weird hand. pushing for 45 into an $18 6-way pot, might be worth finding a better spot, ie having some kind of read on this donkey. it's a real close one. It looks like a worse hand and it is rare to find someone thinking so deeply at 50nl, but there are such better opportunities for after you get a read. I bet he had 32 type shit for you to post this though

Seems as though such an overbet doesn't want a call, neither does a bet like this represent 222 or 66622 since there would be less expected value for him in doing this..... I call here.

Renton - I take it you put him on AKs/TT-KK in this spot? T9 not quite in his range? If the flop didnt have 2 to a suit, would you have folded to his c/r?

The open push always puzzles me as well, Id say the majority of the time you are looking at a weak hand thats trying to push you out of the pot inefficiently....I don't believe you have to worry to much about some trying to make you think that they have nothing when in fact they do.

well, anyone on vent can attest to how thin my skin has become these days. I was just about ready for moving up to 100 nl and then gut-shot time. It's not so many bad beats that I cant take it, its that im always up against a set in every pot. I got check-raised AI so many times on so many turns that i was convinced i would be more profitable betting the flop and open folding the turn.
In any case, I did fold and it made me realize the shift in my thinking over the last two weeks. I didnt think "What can he be doing this with that I beat?' I immediately thought "What can he do this with that beats me? a2 66 aa, bleh fold."
When button calls, it becomes pretty apparent that I have a range like AQs+ JJ+ and that it was going to be a 4,5 or 6 way pot so his range could be nearly anything.
If it was HU, id call becuase he's checking every huge hand to me. But since it was like 6 to the flop, i folded without a read.

Other weak bodog folds that i made yesterday were opening with QQ to 2.5, 2 callers and button reraises with JJ AI. And later I folded QQ to similar action but against AK who got called by 77.
I lost the ability to gamble becuase ahead or behind, i havent shown down well at all in the last 2 weeks.

i'm going thru the worst slump of my life too. The worst part is you start missing value because you're convinced you must be beat again. So as well as losing money getting unlucky and outdrawn, you lose money by leaving it on the table, so effectively you just lose even more.
probably best to take a break when it gets to the point where theres no way of telling if they're playing back at you because you look liek you've become weak tight or they've got a monster

Its suggesteed that cashing out and moving to another site when you are on a downswing is just 'vodoo magic' or whatever (i.e poker isnt rigged) All i say is that moving your bankroll to another site and starting afresh in a new game for a few weeks (or even just over the weekend) gives you that confident mentality back.
If it really is affecting your game/willingness to gambOOl when you think you have the best of it, then its worth a consideration imo.
Otherwise, keep playing the game that wins you money every time you sit imo.

In the NL100 I called a pre-flop all-in for full stacks with ATs once. Bodog games are that good, but it's A LOT of gamble.
