Post subject: Sweat Sessions

Sometime last year somebody brought up the idea to exchange hand histories for a session and comment on each others' play. This was good - I met some people and learned a bit.
I've recently discovered the magic of teamviewer/skype, which means we can watch another players' session live and talk with him in real time about the hands. Sweating each other like this is a great learning tool, whether you're worse, better than, or just different from the person you're paired with.
So first off, I want people to do sweats with. PM me or reply in this thread if you're interested.
Second, if there's enough interest, I'm willing to organize people into pairs. PM or reply in this thread with your site, stakes, experience, and what you're looking for in a partner, including how often you want to do sessions.
The games are always getting harder, we need to improve FASTER than the competition or fail!

oh oh ohhhhhhh, ok that makes sense.
I've been playing FR on stars for about a year, got about 550-700k hands in total. Play mostly 100nl, in the process of moving up to 200nl. I'd like to do a sweat once a week, and I'm looking for people who are seriously looking to improve their game and use it as a primary source of income.
I usually 24-table but I think 9 is the most you can play and chat about at the same time.

I'd be very interested in this, but I don't have much free time, and with wife/kids pre-determined scheduled times get blown out of the water easily. I also multi-table ss/msfr as does jinx, badgers, kfuse, mailman, stax, bickes, etc.
You should both be in IRC imo... I wish irc would do even more in terms of sweat sessions. Like "hey wanna sweat me for 30 minutes?" kinda things. I'm still very embarrassed for people to see how badly i play.. but it's going to be necessary if I ever want to improve.

I can't use skype due to my isp at halls being lame. Anyone use anything other than skype for this with any success? I think msn might have something like this...
If not I'll happily do a teamviewer session with IMing in IRC or msn or whatever. should def sort something out... I'd really like to sweat someone or be sweated I think it could be really useful to see what spots I think are standard that others disagree with and vice versa, hopefully spot some leaks

Yeah anyone playing 100-400NL FR I'll be happy to do some sweat sessions with. I currently play regularly 100-200NL depending on the time of day, week and game availability. I play all from 12-20 tables at once.
Hook me up on AIM: ZwiFTi

Just finished a review session with mailman, animal_chin, gametight, and kingnizzy! Good shit. We used to do this more regularly, and hopefully this will start us getting back into it. I def agree that sweat sessions are +ev, and help one's game. However, pairing, and real time sweats might not be the best way to go imo.
When pairing an individual with another individual problems will arise. There will be situations where neither know the correct line, or where both disagree and noone knows the most +ev play. I think group sessions would correct this so much more. Say, 4-5 peeps at a time on Skype chatting it up. You get more feedback on each hand, you get more opinions (agreeing and disagreeing), you get advice from numerous players on spots that one might be confused on. And it really doesn't get out of control with that many people usually.
Also, real time sweats are good and all, but sometimes it really hinders on the amount of discussion that can be put into a spot. Just seems like your going to be running into so many spots that it's going to be hard to not only come to the correct conclusion, but then discuss that situation in detail before being faced with another decision. A planned "review session" corrects this. In which one or more individuals can put together tough hands they have a problem with for review, or entire sessions can be filtered so really standard spots (folds preflop, standard raises, etc) are done away with, leaving the vid with alot of interesting spots with reduced dead time.
Just something to consider. If this is in group form then I'm definitely down to do this. If it's in pairs form, then really I don't think I would benefit much, or be able to benefit others, because I mainly give thoughts/ideas and not strict "DO THIS" advice.

I'm pretty sure FTR = review sessions
I dig what you're saying, but I actually like the fact that we're not going to have enough time to figure out the best line for certain... poker, when we're really playing it, is about making fast correct decisions. This slows it down a little and gives some chance for a second/third opinion. Review sessions allow you to really take it apart while at a distance, but being able to do that is different from being able to find and play out the most +EV line in real time.
I'd still be down to do some kind of group review session though. I'll either organize it with the people I do sweats with (I xposted this thread into 2+2 as well) after I settle into things, or I'll leave it to someone else to organize, and I'll be happy to join.
