on the turn i think his bet indicates a J or a Q so i call figuring if i hit my straight i can check/raise him for at least 5 although im wrong here and he had 9d2d was this a good play.

it seemed cheap to try i guess and the Turn was the time to try it.

Thankfully he didn't suspect weakness on river and raise you. that would have been a fold.
Been playing money poker for 34 years and decided in 2002 to try that TX Holdem game on TV. Then found Pokerstars in Summer 2005. Still not an overall winner but i am on a good trend and nearly there.

 He couldn't have 9d2d, the turn was 2d so I don't know but I know if guys are staying in the hands and betting a pair of 2s on the turn, I can't wait to be BR'd and move up. Sound like it won't be any sort of adjustment. put a pot sized bet on the flop to dump the guys checking with air, and see if you hit the flush.
