At those stakes its hard to know...you could get a calling station that will donk off with AT. You need reads on this or be ready to give it up after the turn. That smooth call on the turn would scare me if opp seems even semi competent.
Finally, think about that river AI... more often this will be called by hands that beat you than those that you beat, even at that level. So, look for a cheap river or a fold.

Dont sweat it.
I do this all the time as well.
It balances out very well with the times op has AJ or even A6
Though, if you had stats on him as a rock, the preflop and flop action could nail him down to a set.

Ignoring the content of your post regarding the AQ play and whether you played it correctly, I've learned in poker that when it comes to asking for help to stop doing something, you're not going to get it. People can give advice and point you in the right direction but the only person who can change your game is you. Only you can prevent forest fires.
