I couldn't win a big pot and was down $88 until I caught JesGru with the 2nd nut.

I was trying to goofball it a bit with min raises and gambles early to double up and generate action. I'm looking to change up styles a bit for bigger games. The cards just didn't co-operate.

Here's my most memorable hand from the table:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) converter

Hero ($24.25)
MP3 ($31.5)
CO ($23.75)
Button ($50.6)
SB ($26.85)
BB ($21.15)
UTG Chimp)/ ($141.75)
UTG+1 ($43.4)
MP1 ($31.5)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q, Q. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG Chimp)/ raises to $1, 2 folds, Hero calls $1, 1 fold, CO calls $1, 2 folds, BB calls $0.50.

Flop: ($4.25) A, Q, A (4 players)
BB checks, Chimp checks, Hero bets $0.5, CO folds, BB folds, Chimp calls $0.50.

Turn: ($5.25) 3 (2 players)
Chimp checks, Hero checks.

River: ($5.25) 7 (2 players)
Chimp bets $25, Hero calls $22.75 (All-In).

Final Pot: $53

Results in black below:
Chimp has A A (four of a fucking kind, aces).
Hero has Q Q (full house, queens full of aces).
Outcome: Chimp wins $53.
Lonnie swears to stick to limit after this is over

We both slowplayed eachother! I thought I could trap someone with a lone A. Would be hard to put the raiser on A3 or A7, and I knew where 3 of the Q's were. I was almost certain Chimp had raised with the AK and was slowplaying me.

Couldn't quite find the fold here

EDIT: Why the hell does chimp push all in here? To make it look like a pot steal? In his position I'd have to throw out a 5 dollar bet maybe.

Chimp was playing kinda loose/passive, but I still like a re-raise pre-flop to isolate and define his hand. The flop bet is just silly. Chimp will check AK here and may even look you up with KK. Bet at least half pot. The turn is kinda silly too.

Don't try to trap passive players. Steal pots from them, play fast at them and make them call you or play back (then change up gears on them.) Particularly given how easy he was to steal from. I'd love to show him QQ here and then steal the next couple pots from him.

You're losing your stack here every time. You should have just lost it faster

I knew he was going to bet at the pot after his preflop raise. It was just a question of when. The 50 cent bet was just to stir the pot up before the fireworks began.

The smooth call with QQ was more of an effort to conceal the strength of my hand. I wanted to take the flop and then define his hand based on the flop action. Preflop reraises are so often pocket pairs that I didn't want him putting me on a pocket pair right away. This time.

Save the tricky slow play for someone who'll play back at you without a hand. IMHO, the .50c bet gives out even more information about your hand than something that looks more plausable as a steal.

The other reason I don't like slow playing a player like Chimp is that if he knows you'll slow play a monster he might be more inclined tell his inner weak/tight voice to shut the fuck up when you do make a play at a pot instead of folding to the monster under the bed.

Chimp:
Amount won from: $33.50
Amount lost to: $21.00
Net +$12.50

...and I never took a big pot from him...
Granted, he cleaned out the rest of the table. I have him up $143.30

I'm confused here. Doesn't look like your usual style. Way too many loose calls and not enough loose raising, way too much overvaluing of AK.
