I took a lot of abuse from some of the table for this play, but i don't think i was too far from making a "correct" play.

My first hand at table so I had to post blind and I thought as there was a few callers to the $4 raise, I'd see how m suited connectors get on.

Here's the hand:
***** Hand History for Game 2362177280 *****
$50 NL Texas Hold'em - Thursday, July 14, 11:19:59 EDT 2005
Table Table 36997 (Real Money)
Seat 3 is the button
Total number of players : 10
Seat 1: newbie1989 ( $48.50 )
Seat 3: sjl33 ( $57.50 )
Seat 4: EvilLincoln ( $52.15 )
Seat 5: stustustu ( $100.55 )
Seat 6: Monty_Boy ( $80.40 )
Seat 7: Maharasha ( $49.50 )
Seat 8: lsson ( $49 )
Seat 9: kyc605 ( $99.65 )
Seat 10: eDunham42 ( $53.10 )
Seat 2: Hero ( $50 )
EvilLincoln posts small blind [$0.25].
stustustu posts big blind [$0.50].
Hero posts big blind [$0.50].

Dealt to Hero [ 4h 5h ]
Monty_Boy calls [$0.50].

sjl33 raises [$4].
EvilLincoln folds.
stustustu calls [$3.50].
Monty_Boy folds.
Maharasha calls [$3.50].
eDunham42 folds.
Hero calls [$3.50].
** Dealing Flop ** [ Ac, 6d, 3s ]
stustustu checks.
Maharasha checks.
Hero bets [$12].
sjl33 calls [$12].
stustustu raises [$30].
Maharasha folds.
Hero is all-In.
sjl33 is all-In.
stustustu calls [$23.50].
** Dealing Turn ** [ 7c ]
** Dealing River ** [ Jh ]
>You have options at Table 37119 Table!.
stustustu shows [ Ah, Qc ] a pair of aces.
Hero shows [ 4h, 5h ] a straight, three to seven.
sjl33 shows [ As, Ks ] a pair of aces.
sjl33 wins $15 from side pot #1 with a pair of aces with king kicker.
taffy_jones wins $152.25 from the main pot with a straight, three to seven.

My bet on the turn was just to see if the original raiser sill liked his hand. I wanted to take the pot down then. But when there was action from 2 other players, i figured that it was worth seeing the other two cards with an all-in and 2 callers.

The 2 guys involved took the beat quite well, but i was given some abuse by some other players. Was the move so wrong?
pocket Jacks eh?

First off, I don't think I raise this. Very Very likely someone has the ace. I just check/call and hit my card.

But you did bet, and you got action from both players. If someone had a set, you'd be way behind. I think that after your flop bet (which I would not do) you committed yourself to hit or go broke.

If that board was K-high, I'd be ok with your lead out bet. But chances are high one of the ops has an ace.

Leading out was probably a mistake here. Like rilla said, the ace was too likely to have hit one of their hands. I would try to draw relatively cheaply instead and crack a big hand (which you probably would have done if you hadn't led out).

After you were raised to 30, there was 70 in the pot and it was 18 to call and about 40 to go all in. Since the raiser will almost certainly call your last 23 dollars and you are pot-committing yourself if you call his raise, you are getting 103:40, or 2.5:1 odds. If the other guy calls you are getting around 3.5:1. Since the odds of your straight coming in are a little better than 2.5:1, you can make a marginally profitable all-in here, unless you put your opponent on a set.

the problem with that, he called the all in before he knew another player behind him would call the all in as well.. so i say -EV play here.

check through and call to try to hit your hand and drain them.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
So, on the whole are we saying......

My preflop call was OK. My flop bet was very wrong and the push to the raise was about right (if we just accept the fact that i bet in the first place)?
