I think you need to raise the flop. Badly.

As played, well, yuck. But I think I can let it go.
<Staxalax> Honestly, #flopturnriver is the one thing that has improved my game the most.

Were you hoping for other callers when you called the pf raise? The raiser doesn't have enough chips to justify a call imo

I think I'd call the river getting 3.5-1
Must get more aggressive - Tonight we dine in $25NL! rah rah rah! etc

The raiser has over 240bb (effective stacks are 192bb). That's a big raise on the river. How big a stack do you think this guy has to have? You want to be the one doing the pushing, not the one calling huge bets. The misplay occurs on the prior two streets, where you have to define your hand instead of just calling. Raise to $24 on the flop or $100 on the turn and push the river, get it in there. If it's a cooler, it's a cooler. As played it's a call, but a gross call...you are only behind 77, AA, 88, A8, 87 and 85, and most if not all of the 8x hands are about impossible to have given the action.
Save your stories 'cuz they're all the same..

I'm talking about the pre flop raise - the raise is $8 hero has to call $7 and the raiser only has $41 left. So the implied odds to set hunt aren't there. Hero can't know there will be a call behind right?

Fold pre-flop.
Raise the flop.
River sucks. Probably gotta fold it but still is kinda painful.
