This game plays huge and crazy! The big stacks never let you breathe...

They're constantly in a "buy-in pissing contest." One will buy-in for $3000, the next will make it $5000, and the next will buy-in $8000! Ridiculous. Blinds might as well be .01/.02-- Why am I sitting in this? I sit down w/ $2500 (4 plrs. have less than me).

Table consists of 2 pros, 5 loose gamblers, older weakie, and ME (not a NL pro, nor a loose gambler).

Villain will play all types of different hands from all positions (not one of the pros, as you'll see).

Before I could even take my chips out of the racks, this happenend:

Limp, limp, I raise $65 LP w/ AsKc. Blinds fold, limpers call.

FLOP ($210... 3plrs)
Ks,10s,9s

LIMPER1 PUSHES $3500!!!! Limper2 folds, I...

mate, you're playing live, you have the nuts! Get your money in as fast as you can. BTW, don't feel intimidated by guys buying in for $8000 or whatever - they may as well only have as much as you, because that's all they can win. Stupid myth, big stacks intimidating short stacks in cash games - a strategy from tournaments which doesn't apply in any way to cash games. I love playing live, many happy times.

Make it $100 flat pre-flop. Don't buy-in deeper than 100bb. Consider leaving when you get to around 300bb.

You're right about the pre-flop raise. I wasn't happy w/ that amount!

I'll try to paint the best picture I can of what happened:

This guy has played a lot of Limit w/ me, and knows I'm very tight, and don't get out of line too much (that he knows of ) So, my initial thinking was that he thought I was going to be weak/tight in this game. That kind of thinking of me almost made me insta-call his flop push. Then I called, "time," and took a few minutes to try and put him on a hand vs. what he thought I would be playing.

The three hands I'm really worried about are QJ (flopped str8), 99 (set), 10's (set). I think I'd call if I could eliminate those hands, somehow. What's he thinking?

1) He knows I have a big hand, which could mean he WANTS me to call, knowing where I am... which was actually weighing me to a fold.

2) He knows I have a big hand, and overbets the pot to simply get me off my hand (unless I had KK). Even if I had AA, he knows I can find a fold.

A minute into my "time-out," where I had pretty much decided to fold... he started to talk to me. BIG MISTAKE!!!! He was taunting me: "You can't call w/ your Aces or AK... I got you beat. You're probably close to dead." (you ready for this next brilliant move of his???)

HE SHOWED ME ONE CARD-- A RED K!!!!

He just eliminated every hand I was worried about. Maybe he has K,10... so what...

"I CALL"

He almost fell out of his chair! I knew I had him before he even turned over his hand, which he didn't have to... but the table was going crazy by this time, and kinda made him. He flipped KhQs.

Turn brick, river brick. MY HAND GOOOOOD!

LoL @ Live poker.

That said, if you're going to play these games you have to be comfortable getting in all the money in spots like this without some retard giving his hand away.

I guess when the worst you can be is 45-55 you might as well call hoping he's being an idiot.

LOL! Couldn't agree w/ you more. I was seconds away from folding, but the red K screamed TPFD.

I DID appreciate his kindness, tho.

You think this is a call here? I'm getting lots of "fold, idiot!"

The only thing I'm hoping to be up against is exactly what he showed me, but if he didn't, 2pr, sets, maybe str8? Still gambol?

Meh, I tend to do stuff to avoid spots like this in the first place.

Once you get deep more and more hands become read driven.
