So, I have been doing well at .50/1 limit, but getting hammeed in SnGs.
Here is a hand from .50/1 - hit a Q high flush on the river and bet it, but I was thinking I mighta checked raised.
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed)
Preflop: Hero,Hero is SB with 2:diamond:, Q:diamond:.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button calls, Hero,Hero completes, BB checks.
Flop: (6 SB) T:heart:, 8:diamond:, 9:diamond: [color:blue](6 players)
[color:CC3333]Hero,Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP3 calls, [color:CC3333]Button raises, Hero,Hero calls, BB calls, UTG folds, MP3 calls.
Turn: (7.50 BB) A:spade: [color:blue](4 players)
Hero,Hero checks, BB checks, MP3 checks, Button checks.
River: (7.50 BB) 3:diamond: [color:blue](4 players)
[color:CC3333]Hero,Hero bets, BB folds, MP3 folds, Button folds.
Final Pot: 8.50 BB

you might try 3-betting the flop (but I'm not sure on this one).
Since the river was checked through, you can't count on anyone to bet on the river. you were right to bet there.

If I had a hammer
I'd drop in the morning
I'd drop in the evening..

I don't think a check raise on the river is called for. Everyone check through the turn. Noone has shown aggression after the flop. It's pretty obvious noone even holds as much as top pair.
With the diamond hitting on the river, the only player you are likely to get action from is someone else who made a flush, and they may have a higher flush.
By betting, you may get the second pair to call you down on a fishy table.

I think you are right.
I put Button on a pair with the raise - but he'd have to have T/9 T/9 T/7 to have the goods over me.

- Ok to bet river. One of the worst feelings is showing down a straight/flush+ w/o a bet on the river. Since turn was checked, a bet is needed...
- I wouldnt 3-bet the flop. Your out-of-position and decrease your pot odds. Checking or betting is fine with me. However, I dont like betting in the lead with a draw since I know I will probably check the turn and will have to fold to any turn bet. Your only hope by betting or 3-betting is to force your opp-out.
- I would put opp on a pair or straight draw.. If they had top-pair, I would think they would bet the turn, even if the Ace boarded.
