Greedo017 is on a distinguished road
i find i get into situations like this more often than i'd like to, where i limp a low pocket with a lot of callers preflop, flop a set and bet out, then the turn brings a potential straight and i am left unsure because there was no preflop raise. so, what do you do here?

edit: no read btw, several obvious fish at the table but hadn't been there long and was unsure of him.

A cold call of $1 in EP with 79o/s? I doubt it, he probably either has a better set or two pair or an overpair.

an overpair doesn't explode like that there. I believe that you have to fold this, though I'd really hate to do this.

What hand do you really beat here that makes that play?

I like the bet on the flop, but once you get called you have to consider there is a high probability of an OESD being out there since there is not a lot of other possibilities on that board. On the turn I think I would lead\call or check\call and try to fill up if the implied odds are there, I definitely wont check raise here. You could also be up against a higher set.
