This is at bodog 25nl shorthanded; Villain seems like any other donk player. Bets good hands, checks the weak ones. Haven't really played a whole lot against him.
Villain has stack around $35
Hero stack around $55.

Dealt 44 in BB
Villain calls UTG, MP1 calls, SB calls, I check

Flop J-6-4 rainbow pot (1)
SB checks, Hero checks, Villain bets .60, MP1 folds, Hero reraises to 1.50, Villain reraises to 2.40, Hero calls

Turn: 9c ($5.80)
Hero bets 2, Villain raises to 4

River:10(13.80)
Hero checks, Villain checks

Here was my thought process.

Flop: wasn't too dangerous and didn't think it would hit anyone so I checked, hoping someone would bet so I could get a better read as to what they had. When Villain bet, I put him on jack, but then he reraised so I was thinking maybe donk two pair, maybe just a jack, or worst case, set, so I called to reevaluate the turn.

Turn: I bet out to gage where I was at again, and again he just minraised....now I am really fearing set so I just call.

River: I was planning on check/calling, just in case he would reraise me all in a huge amt. If he just had a jack i figured he would check, but if he had 2 pair, he might bet a little.

Looking back on this hand I thought I missed value. Players at this level usually slowplay sets and such with a flop like this so I felt like I should have been more aggressive. We were both on the bigside of chips at the table so I played more on the cautious side. But that's what you guys are here for...to help fix my mistakes!

I think shove over the top on the turn. You have a set and if he's got TP or a draw he's gonna pay. If he has a set, meh and reload.
I started a new job so don't play much ATM, just FTP mini grind

definitely push either flop or turn. As someone told me, YOU HAVE A SET!!! If he has a higher set say nh and reload.

just get it all in on any street when villain wants to play a big pot at these stakes. Results are irrelevant as your hand is so strong.
