They do this over at 2+2, and I was wanting to either bring it here, or atleast direct some FTR members who are interested to a place where they can do this

Basically you get paired up with someone who is at the same stakes as you, and you play a session and send your entire session to your partner who then looks over your hands and then discusses critcal hands with you and vice versa.

here is a FAQ link to some threads about it on 2+2
http://archives1.twoplustwo.com/show...0135488&page=1

if anyone is interested I guess post in this thread and maybe we can get something going.

this has been done here quite a few times over the years. It just takes one person to organize it...
Check out my self-deprecation here!

hmmm...
50nl FR at fulltilt. A lot at the 200bb tables. Debating 100nl.
Some 6-max and/or FR at 50nl/100nl on everest

occasional other sites when I feel like clearing a bonus
But right now I'm having problems with PT3 - isn't everybody. Guess I could go back to PT2 + HUD for a while though.

My major leak = lack of discipline, but there are loads of others. Calling when I know I'm beaten. Wonder if this session review thing would help?

It helps immensely when you can keep people going and signed up, and have people who follow through. I had the good fortune of having good partners, but there were lots of stories of people who didn't

I sent Jinxt a PM about pairing up at the $25 level but neither of us have done this so I am sorta at a loss regarding what the goal is and the best way to accomplish it.

I am assuming the goal is just another person who plays at the same level but can review tons of hands with each other, but is the best way to play sessions together, forward HH's of sessions to each other or what?

Basically, yes, people signed up and the "leader" would pair people up based on level and game. Once the pairings were made, the people who signed up were responsible for contacting their partner and exchanging contact info through PMs. Most people would export HH sessions of approx 50-100 hands each from PT, and e-mail them to their partner, who would go through them and comment on the hands.

Things I would watch for in particular were missed opportunities to pick up blinds/limpers, and line checks. Seeing a whole table session can give you a different perspective than posting a single HH does. You can get a feel for who the tools at the table are, and why you pick on one player but not another, etc.

This would go back and forth over the length of the pairings (2 weeks), for as many sessions as you and your partner could fit in. An average for me was 3-4 sessions for a total of approx 200 hands. Comments on all hands weren't necessary, just the ones where preflop decisions weren't obvious, etc. I also found it constructive to point out where someone played well IMO, that helps the confidence a lot.

Another thing that came out of the sessions were opportunites to sweat each other if possible. That only happened a couple of times, but was very helpful.

Things that hurt:

Partners who did not return your PM
Partners who could not find time to review your HHs
People would sign up for one session but couldn't for another, eventually the number of people who signed up dropped off.

Hopefully I answered your question?

Thanks for the tips and it all made sense except the above statement. I don't see how going to the gym with each other will help my poker game, but if it makes sense I will give it a shot.
