I'm in SB, with AJc, and there are heaps of callers. I raise 5bb and get 4 callers.

My first big issue is the flop. I've got second pair, and there's a flush draw. If someone else has top pair I don't want to do their betting for them, but I don't want to give anyone a free card either. In the end I bet, but gave odds for the flush draw, which seems just silly with so many in the pot. Maybe I should have just checked and been ready to fold?

So the flush falls and I figure there are just too many ways I could be behind, so I check away. A fourth heart falls and it looks just ugly, so I check again. With the opp checking on the turn he could have been either on a draw, or a slow play, or a worried shit pair like me.

Any advice? I'm pretty sure I played this pretty badly with that half arsed bet on the flop. Although as the pre-flop aggressor I felt entitled to a crappy cont bet.

Not a fan of building a pot pre-flop.

I check this flop.

I dont like the raise preflop. In 10$ NL with 4 limpers you need to raise more to isolate to 1 or 2 opponents, cause as you can see your raise didnt do the job. You are going to be first to act throughout the whole hand with a marginal hand. I think your best choice here is to limp in hoping for a nut flush draw, pair of aces and jacks, or you would probably be good on a J high flop. Be carefull if you only hit an ace or jack, try to keep the pot small but. If you always make this kind of play you will find yourself in a tough situation like you did more often than not. In NL holdem you dont want to be out of position betting with a marginal hand if you can avoid it.

either limp or make it $1 preflop. and you kind of lose the title of "preflop aggresor" when you goto the flop five-way. remember that for every limper you need to raise more and more to thin the field, which is exactly what you want to do with AJ. but you're also out of position so limping has its benefits as well.
