I'm always a little nervous to push these edges - i believe i would of gotten a call if i mini-raised him - and thus extracted more value - but i'm always nervous unless i have the nuts - advice?

You should raise preflop and not include results in your post.

yeah raise pf, and 3bet on the turn too. any flush is playing with you for stacks and sometimes sets too.
