It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

The QJs to setup the 56s booya is quite entertaining. That last one ... how do you go ahead and call there?
Is it that it looks like a busted draw, a 9 doesn't bet the river, and a J probably leads something on the flop?

Why limp QQ UTG?
In the AT hand, are you calling the flop donk-bet strictly sensing a check-raise from the preflop donkraiser?

Good stuff - keep em comin!

just my thoughts...
#1 - Most have a tight PF 3-bet range. Villain bets almost the size of the pot on the flop OOP into a 4-way pot. Hero is usually behind all his possible holdings.
#2 - PFR + C/R in multi-way pot w/ broadway flop = Goods. Hero only beats QT here unless Villain is total idiot.

951693501 (7h 8h) - I'd pay this one off, I think this is trip Aces a lot and very rarely AK/AQ in an unraised pot.

JT wouldn't surprise me either. Nor a rivered set/boat. Against an unknown his range is so wide and a flush beats a lot of hands that might play like that.

Rondavu,

I love that you post so many interesting hands, but can you PLEASE stop posting the results of every one of your hands in every OP of yours? It makes it pretty hard to have a good discussion of the hands, a lot of people might not be able to look past the results.

How did you put the last villain on ace high? That one didn't make sense to me at all. Nicely played btw.

I want to take a closer look at these hands - for me, #1 is beyond s(l)ick.

What was your thought process in limping QQ utg? Was this table so aggro/position-abusive that QQ only had set value?

Ok, I'll try to answer everyone's questions effectively.

Hand 1: In this hand the table was playing aggressive enough, where it was a good move to limp reraise QQ. This was my plan. Of course when it got back to me it was already raised and reraised. At this point I'm taking a flop and seeing how people react. Of course it came out rags and first act reraiser bombed the pot. Game over. TTYL

Hand 2: I'm always cautious on a flop like this with two pair. I'm not saying I don't put money in hard on occassion, but with any semblance of respect for my opponents, I have to seek a better day with such a weak losing range if someone wants to go deep stacking.

Hand 3: Standard. I pay off sets here all day.

Hand 4: Positional lagging. Usually the way this goes is I continue postflop on safe boards to take the math victory. I hit a lucky flop and good day sir.

Hand 5: This is your standard second barrell scenerio, where the broadway hits the turn, and you're putting the opponent on a mid pocket that wants to showdown with 3 cards on the board. Ain't happening.

Hand 6: I kinda love this hand. I may have folded the best hand. On this table, people were limping AQ AK regularly. I felt like the nuts may have popped out on the flop. Waited for a better day, because even a better flush beats me.

Hand 7: Standard lagg stacker. You build a loose aggressive image, and people won't let you push them off top pair. I think the key to this hand for all noobs, is that most of the time it's best to just put the money in when you make it, lest you lose value.

Hand 8: Rondavu special. I have a knack for knowing when I'm ahead on loose calls like this. I get caught sometimes, but not often enough to make it unprofitable. In this particular hand, it was obvious the villain missed a draw with overcards or otherwise. The key to me is bet sizes. The villain pushes a pot sized bet into me on a board where he percieves me to have missed completely. If the villain is solid at all I call this all day until someone teaches me a lesson.

I see what you're saying, but I post these for the purpose of showing the mechanisms of beating the level. I don't want to set up trick question hands where I get all these people telling me to do one thing, and surprise I did the opposite. I'm always learning poker, but less and less these days. This is just to help out noobs.

Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Rondavu,

Why aren't you playing 6 max?

Do you think your edge would be smaller or bigger?

I know I had to make some BIG adjustments to my game.

I'm actually a 6-max player. I've been playing full ring last few days because the tables are extra juicy right now. Can't argue with a $15 average pot size at 50NL.

Why would a super-aggro table make QQ only have set value?

Hehe. No doubt. It had set value against the AA and KK I was up against.

Good question

I guess the thing is this - how are you playing this vs flopped overs into more than a few aggro opps (general, rhetorical question). But... maybe I'm overly weak-tight against very aggro players. I just couldn't figure out why QQ would be limped utg.
