This is a hand I just played, and on the flop it was a very awkward decision, and I seem to run into this kind of scenario a lot.

How was this played preflop? Should I have put him all in since he was somewhat shortstacked already? And on the flop, I'm first to act, and he has less than $6 left, but the pot is around $12. I figured I'd try to rep the king, but turns out this idiot called a reraise with KJ. I figured checking the flop basically surrenders the hand, and any kind of bet I make will commit me to the pot. Well, what are your thoughts?

You did just fine. Shortstacks are easy money most of the time.

I woulda tried to get him all-in PF. He probly woulda called but since you guys saw a flop, you didnt lose any more money than a usual follow up bet would have cost.

I say well-played. I bet wondergirl would have called that bet whether she hit the flop or not. There was a greater probability that she didn't have that king. Going all-in could have been another line you could have taken though.

I FK hate microstacks, ppl sitting with 5-10 @ NL25, 20-25 @ NL50 and with 50ish @ NL100, FFS! There's a rebuy button.

I like the shortstack that sits there and calls off his stack when I start pushing...by all means let 'em sit and die
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

Thus the reason they were short stacked in the first place

Short stacks get desperate and will usually not hesitate to push it all in preflop with two face cards. Even if you went all in PF he was calling..he just got lucky and hit his 3 outs
