I'm not sure if I did the right thing on this hand. Loved the outcome, obviously. Basically my feeling was that I was probably beat on the flop by a set (turned out to be correct, although I was thinking a set of jacks) but not by a flush or aces. I believed I had 9 spades as outs, plus two kings for the higher set. My other thought was that if I could get this to be a three way all-in, I was more than likely ahead of bustijoseph and I could at least win a side pot against his larger stack, to recoup some of my losses to wendy117. (He didn't call my push so it didn't work out that way - not that it mattered in the end. But since he already had $30 in there and the pot was enormous, I figured he'd call with any decent hand there. I was really hoping he was on pocket queens or something.)

That would have been a tough laydown since you had Ks. Would you have made the same call with Ko?

Probably not - fewer outs, and I also don't have the insurance of being already ahead of hands like pocket queens or AK.

I would have made the same play. If I would not have had one of the flush cards I would not.

Make the preflop reraise 12 and I'd say it was perfectly played.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

Do you have a standard re-raise for those situations? I have a standard pre-flop raise but I've never put much thought into my re-raises... generally I raise whatever I think will get the point across that my hand is very strong (but will still be callable by the morons over-valuing AK and lower pairs). Usually I'll re-raise at least twice what they raised, so if they put out 2xBB like they did here I'm going to raise that by at least 4xBB. In this case I went a bit past that, but like I said I don't really have a rule - it's just improvised.
