SB ($14.05)
BB ($48.65)
UTG ($11.05)
UTG+1 ($24.50)
MP1 ($69.85)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q, T. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
3 folds, MP2 calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.25, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($1) K, 9, 8 (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets $1, MP2 folds, Hero folds, SB calls $1.

Turn: ($3) J (2 players)
SB checks, BB bets $2, SB calls $2.

River: ($7) 2 (2 players)
SB checks, BB checks.

Final Pot: $7

Results in white below:
SB has 6s 5s (high card, king).
BB has As 8c (one pair, eights).
Outcome: BB wins $7.

My thinking was flush draw out there vs my gutshot with one out contaminated was not worth the call on the flop but given the way it played out I am doubting myself and wondering if it was a no-brainer call or correct laydown or purely an "it depends"

Standard fold. You have only 3 outs that you can feel comfortable about hitting.

It's kinda results oriented to think you played wrong just because your gutshot ended up there. It's like folding 72o to a raise and then seeing the flop is 772.. too bad, you did the right thing.
Sarcasm is your body's natural defense against stupidity

yeah definatly some results oriented thinking in there but also I'm just questioning my play a little lately with seeeing flushes too often as a scare factor then people showing down hands with 1 or 0 of the flush suit at the end and it's affecting my play I think, hence my questioning here.

Yeah, you can't be overly scared of the flush, it'll eat your profits. But I don't think that applies in this case.. he bet the pot and all you had was a gutshot.. (ok, it turned out your Q and T were also outs, but generally they won't be)

In a four-way pot this is an easy, easy fold. Even heads up I'm not usually making this call without a read.
