I figured he was bluffing because he had done that several times... But still it was a risky call. I knew he was not a good player and I knew he was not purposely throwing people off by raising bluffing then playing like a rock. He just really sucked!

Was this to risky of a call??

too risky with no pair. i'd rather be calling that with 23 than ak.

Regardless of factors?

Such as he had been bluffing since he had been at table, and he re-raised pre flop so I figured he had AQ suited is why I called.

I just felt like he was going to keep buying pots. $18 in the pot

What were my odds? I had about 40/60 of winning 3:1 pot?

I guess by looking back on this I realize it was a bad move.

What should I do in this situation? It was not hte first time he had done that and it was not going to be the last time.

Everytime he would re-raise big to steal the first raise, and if they called and the flop was crap he would raise the pot big and they would fold becaue they didnt hit! Then he would get up to like $30-40 and keep doing it and fold if anyone re-raised or called him.

Anytime he got a caller he got beat, but normally no one would call him and he kept making like $5-10 doing this!

raise $3 pre flop if there were no raisers then if people called he would raise $7 post flop and everyone folds.

He only does it maybe once per round or once per 2 rounds but never gets called, never shows! When he does get called he loses or folds if they re raise!

Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing 8c 4d 3d
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
As Kc 300 30.30 690 69.70 0 0.00 0.303
6d 5d 690 69.70 300 30.30 0 0.00 0.697

that was right there. now obviously there was no way to know his hand was as good as it was, but in general it is not a good idea to go all-in without at least a pair, its just too risky. if he plays a lot of hands there's no way to eliminate him having flopped a pair.

you should take what he does into account, but you gotta wait for a better situation to come to bust him. obviously, calling his ai with ak considering how bad he is, is not nearly as bad as if he was good, but its still not a wise move.
