>You have options at Table 37292 Table!.

Now i had top pair with crappy kicker and 3 other limpers, so obviously i was worried i was outgunned. Nevertheless, I made a rather wimpy looking bet on the flop and got one caller, conviently the guy right behind me (I suspect he called because he saw no one else call).

Of course, I was worried he had me beat, or he was going to hit his draw, but when the turn didnt bring any obvious draw hits I was a little happier.

However he bets into me on the turn, which had me worried. Did he have me outkicked? Was he trying to setup a bluff on the river? So I came with this nice idea which was to minraise him another dollar. The idea was if he was drawing he'd have to pay more. If he had a good hand I'd get reraised and I'd know to fold. Most importantly, after calling my raise it would look very awkward on his part to make a large bet on the river unless an obvious draw hit. He was forced to check instead of trying to steal the pot (which might have worked) and I then checked too and ended up winning. This type of raise only works with position though, as in reverse the onus would be on you to make a bet on the river.

Any thoughts? Anyone seen this talked about before?

The only thing I'd change is to possibly make the reraise a tad bigger. Your reasoning is perfect though. Good job.
